  2. This guide gives our recommend method for repainting the logo on 27WON brand intercoolers

    • Results will vary depending on the quality of prep work & care taken in the painting process

    • This guide is for all 27WON Intercoolers. Some images may not depict your specific intercooler. The process is similar

    • Remove the front bumper from the car to gain access to the intercooler

  3. Once the intercooler has been removed from the Civic, place it on a clean work area as shown

    • The front of the intercooler should be facing up, with the logo positioned as shown

    • To ensure the intercooler remains stable and level, place foam or wood blocks under the intercooler

    • If using wood, ensure wood blocks are wrapped in a protective cloth or material to prevent damage to the back of the intercooler

  4. If you repaint the face of the intercooler, you may lose the logo positioning, and you will need to manually center the stencil  on the intercooler For light scratches and defects, use 600 grit sandpaper (or Green Scotch-Brite) and lightly scuff the surface by hand until the defects are less visible

    • For larger defects, lower grit sandpaper (like 200) may be required. To achieve a smooth finish after using a lower grit sandpaper, you then must sand with progressively higher grit (400, 600, 1000) until the desired finish is achieved

    • After sanding, clean the surface using compressed air or micro-fiber towel, and apply black touch-up paint as necessary

    • 27WON recommends Rustoleum 2X Ultra Paint & Primer in Flat Black for touching up face of the FMIC

    • After repairs have been completed, allow sufficient time for paint to dry before proceeding to applying new logo

    • Use caution to prevent the stencil from bending or creasing

    • Stencil will appear as shown

  6. Center the stencil over the existing logo Of course, if you repainted the face of the intercooler you have to manually align the logo When placing the stencil over the existing logo, ensure the stencil is aligned properly by confirming that only white paint is visible

    • Being careful to not bump the stencil, tape the stencil in position with blue painters tape

    • Do not use masking tape, duct tape, or other types of tape as they may leave adhesive or damage the finish

  7. It's recommended to use thick packing paper or newspaper to masking the entire intercooler. Sufficient coverage is required or paint overspray WILL occur Gather/Cut QTY(4).  roughly 3ft x 3ft sheets of paper Place the first sheet of paper on the top of the intercooler core

  8. For repainting the  "27WON" logo, 27WON recommends Rustoleum 2X Ultra Paint & Primer in Semi-Gloss White Read and follow manufacturers instructions on the paint can Hold the can ~ 6 inches vertical from the stencil surface

    • Point the spray from the can straight down or excessive overspray will occur

    • Spray the paint straight down while moving side to side in a slow and consistent pace

    • Spray 2-3 coats of paint until white color is consistent over all exposed intercooler core

    • Verify the edges and corners of the entire logo have solid white color

  9. Allow sufficient time for the paint to dry before proceeding Let paint dry fully Remove the tape holding the paper to the intercooler

    • Remove the tape holding the paper to the intercooler

    • Remove the attached paper

    • Remove the tape holding the stencil to the intercooler

    • Carefully lift the entire stencil straight off the intercooler

  10. Verify:
    • Verify:

    • Paint overspray does not cause letters to blend into each other

    • Corners and edges have sharp line and consistent color

    • If logo quality is poor and needs to be repainted, it's recommended to cover the logo in black paint, allow to dry, and repeat the painting process already outlined

    • Reinstall intercooler on car

    • Reinstall front bumper

  11. This completes the repainting process of your 27WON Performance Intercooler when using the 27WON FMIC Stencil
